Copper Brick Ring
A unique piece of history! So, what exactly is copper brick? At one time, copper was heavily mined in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The smelting furnaces were lined with bricks and over time, copper impregnated the bricks in those furnaces. The mines are now closed and some of these bricks have been made into stones we can now use in our jewelry. I’ve surrounded the stone with copper to coordinate the entire design. The stone is 10mm wide and the ring size is 6.75. Hand fabricated in sterling silver and copper in my Harbor Springs MI studio. One of a a kind.
