Copper Brick Pendant
From the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, “Copper Brick” comes from old copper furnaces. When they were smelting the copper ore, over time, the bricks of the furnace became impregnated with the copper. A gem cutter I know has fashioned stones out of these bricks and turned them into Michigan stones, a reminder of the past copper mining we had in our state at one time. The piece is set in sterling silver and copper and measures 50 mm long x 35mm wide.
